That's it for our 2022 round up of the Power-Up directory over the last 12 months. Marketing & Social media is also a relatively new category so perhaps a lot of the installs here are down to power-up developers recategorising their existing power-ups into this new category. Possibly, with all the work Trello has done on reporting over the last few years, we are seeing fewer Analytics & Reporting power-ups getting installed, hence the drop out of the top 6 for that category. They both achieved close to double the number of new board installs they got over the previous year which is pretty amazing growth! Below the top two we naturally have IT & Project Management! but get more of a shake up below that.Ĭhanges here could reflect different patterns in which power-ups people are installing or power-up developers changing the categories they list their power-ups in. Board utilities and Communication/Collaboration are the biggest leaders with over 3M new board installs each. This shows the total number of new board installs for Power-Ups listed in each category over the last year. However, seeing the changing fortunes below those top 2 is interesting and perhaps, while the number of power-ups listed is still growing and accelerating, developers are finding new areas to build in. It also shouldn't be a surprise to see a lot listed in IT Project Management given the nature of Trello. I think Board utilities is usually power-ups 2nd category if there isn't another obvious 2nd choice.

Communication/Collaboration is relegated to 5th place with just 5 new power-ups listed this year. This year we see Automation in a fairly weak 3rd place with only half the number of new power-ups as 2nd place, followed closely by Analytics and Reporting in 4th. Whereas last year we saw Communication/Collaboration and Analytics and Reporting in a strong joint 3rd place with nearly as many new pups listed there as the #2 spot. We have the same top 2 as last year but start to see some changes below that. Here we see how many new Power-Ups were launched in each of these categories in 2022. Hats off to Amazing fields for their 1st place against such stiff competition! Zapier is also worth a mention, they were our fastest growing 3rd party power-up last year and still managed 2nd place this year. Secondly, although Trello have been improving their own reporting tools we still see some strong growth from 3rd party reporting options such as Corrello and Projects by Placker. Two tools to allow syncing Trello to your calendar from Unito and Cronofy made the list. This is likely down to Trello's decision to make Custom Fields part of the core product instead of a Power-Up in 2021.ĭigging further down the list we can see a couple of interesting things. We have separated out the Trello/Atlassian owned Power-Ups from the 3rd party Power-Ups as otherwise the Trello/Atlassian ones tend to dominate the listings.īig congratulations to Amazing fields which was the fastest growing new power-up last year and is now the fastest growing of all 3rd party power-ups in 2022.

The Power-Ups listed below were the fastest growing 3rd party Power-Ups of 2022. By failing to provide for a sort by Start Date function, they have placed a significant hurdle in ramping-up our team to a Business Class subscription.Looking now at all power-ups currently in the directory, not just new ones from the last 12 months. I hope you can get to your development team my feedback. But instead it appears I would have to engage in a separate evaluation process that I just can't prioritize now.

I had hoped to evaluate it in my own personal boards over the long term (not just the short-term trial period that's offered). The one function needed before I moved our company team to Trello was Start Dates. I understand there may be some automation using Start Dates in the Calendar and Timeline Views available in Business Class. There is no automation whatsoever that I can see. The only use to be made of them is for me to look at each card's start date and then manually sort or move them.

Without being able to sort by Start Date, for those of us still in the free version, there is no systemic way to manipulate cards by Start Dates.
